Assuming they stop when the light vanishes, Kyna and Rafe will just be... in the dark forest. With only their lanterns for guidance.
And hmm is that a skittering sound in the undergrowth? It's not close yet, but does it seem like it's coming in their direction? Yes. Yes it does.
