area of exploration: Stone is following he ferry when it leaves, to see if they can get a view of what the portal looks like these days. He will be flying, carrying Bodhi, and Bodhi will have his tablet active to communicate with Rosinante (who is staying on the shore) and to take pictures. This is also a good chance to test the range of the network.

notes: They're not bringing supplies or torches, relying on the lights of the ferry and their own lanterns, flying close enough to the water to see if the ferry goes out/disappears. If the trip takes longer than Stone can comfortably fly for (with breaks landing on the ferry, maybe, if it's big enough and unloaded enough that he thinks he won't sink the thing if he tries), they'll turn back even if they don't see the portal. Stone does have a canon ability to always feel where "south" is so getting lost on the way back shouldn't be a problem, unless something about this world screws with that ability :D
