GACHA MACHINE

After the events of August's party, the Librarian had gone back and grabbed a peculiar-looking machine from the bonfire, dragging it back over towards the Village. It's not all that flashy looking a machine; rather, it's rusted, some of the lightbulbs shattered, the paint scratched away. It makes the new, yellow-white piece of paper taped carefully to the front all the more noticeable.

There are written instructions there, carefully scrawled. It being the Librarian who wrote them, there's a lot of symbols in place of words, and honestly, it's really more of a tentative grasp on literacy going on here. But with a bit of thinking, you can figure it out:

1. Insert an offering (any offering) into the coin slot
2. Answer the riddle
3. ??
4. Prize!!

There's an array of prizes. Some are useful, some less so. But you'll never know if you don't try, and it might just be worth the effort. Unfortunately, it only responds to people once a week— meaning you can only get four prizes a month! But given the prizes, four might just be overwhelming enough.

second week of march

Okay, so do I wipe all this off or do I wait until it stops?

[ Sora is feeding the gacha machine with his actual birthday celebratory food this time! Slices of cupcake and a little bit of pancit bihon from a plastic container for today. He's already tied some ribbon in pink and white and green onto the machine's handle for his birthday, but he's studying the remnants of some of the colored dust that must have gotten onto the machine from a stray spirit ambush nearby. He's literally drenched in the stuff since he's been out and about all day, but he's kind of enjoying the change of pace. ]

I think it looks good, real festive! Wonder what this is all about, though? [ Despite being from Earth, he's never heard of Holi. Hm! Questions for the Librarian later, maybe. ]

[The machine looks very festive, covered in pinks and blues and yellows . . . they rather like it. Maybe. It's hard to tell sometimes. The machine lights up, a happy little tune plays, and a card is spit out.]

What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and grey when you throw it away?

[ Well, Sora will just leave them be and clean them up next week then!

This one only takes Sora half a second, actually! It might have taken a bit longer if he wasn't from mid 2010s era America - who knew Earth trivia could be so handy? ]

[Ding ding ding! Absolutely correct! He sure did get that one, good job Sora!! His prize rolls out, along with a slip of paper that serves as explanation. I wonder what it could be?]

2. Duct tape: Three rolls, coming in a variety of fun colors. Make a wallet or keep your pipes from leaking!
