GACHA MACHINE

After the events of August's party, the Librarian had gone back and grabbed a peculiar-looking machine from the bonfire, dragging it back over towards the Village. It's not all that flashy looking a machine; rather, it's rusted, some of the lightbulbs shattered, the paint scratched away. It makes the new, yellow-white piece of paper taped carefully to the front all the more noticeable.

There are written instructions there, carefully scrawled. It being the Librarian who wrote them, there's a lot of symbols in place of words, and honestly, it's really more of a tentative grasp on literacy going on here. But with a bit of thinking, you can figure it out:

1. Insert an offering (any offering) into the coin slot
2. Answer the riddle
3. ??
4. Prize!!

There's an array of prizes. Some are useful, some less so. But you'll never know if you don't try, and it might just be worth the effort. Unfortunately, it only responds to people once a week— meaning you can only get four prizes a month! But given the prizes, four might just be overwhelming enough.

[While still conversing with Aziraphale, he scribbles on the paper "SNAKE" and sticks it back in the machine.]

[The machine grumbles as it takes in the card. Cheater. And yet . . . ding ding ding! Absolutely correct! His prize rolls out, along with a slip of paper that serves as explanation. I wonder what it could be?]

9. Dead lil buddy: Take a hike, dogs-- there's a new Man's Best Friend on the market. Your ghost figurine is guaranteed to be loyal (he's dead! he doesn't know anybody else!), great around children (he used to be one!), and house-trained (ghosts don't poop).

[Crowley just stares at the small figurine. What the hell is this? Does it do anything?

[It jiggles a little! But alas, it is made of plastic and springs and . . . hm. No batteries, and yet those eyes glow with supernatural intent, so maybe it's powered by the soul of a forsaken child, but it's fine. It's probably fine.

So no, it doesn't "do" anything, per se, but it will follow Crowley around for quite a while. After about a week, he can leave it home alone, but it'll fuss if he doesn't pay it attention at least once a day.]
